A person was stabbed as they tried to detain a suspected shoplifter in a high street bakery.
Police were called to Cooplands on High Street in Stockton at around 2.40pm on Friday (October 2).
A member of the public suffered a minor stab wound to the hand while attempting to detain the man, according to Cleveland Police.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft from a shop and wounding with intent. He has been released on conditional bail.
