AN auctioneer who is a familiar face on the small screen will host a free antiques valuation event in North Yorkshire this week.
The event will take place on Friday, October 9, from 2pm to 4pm at The Lodge in RHS Garden Harlow Carr, where visitors are invited to bring along items such as jewellery, silver, and watches for expert appraisal.
Auctioneer Charles Hanson, who is well-known from shows like Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, will be on hand to look at people's 'treasures'.

He said: "Every object has a story to tell. It might be a piece of jewellery that has been passed down through a family, silver that has been sitting in a cupboard for years or a watch whose history has been completely forgotten.
"That's what makes valuations so exciting. You never know what someone might bring along or what story we might uncover."

The event, delivered in partnership with Hansons Auctioneers, is included with regular garden admission, and RHS members can attend for free.
Visitors may bring up to three small items each, such as collectables, ceramics, artwork, or books, but large furniture and oversized items cannot be accommodated.
Liz Thwaite, head of site at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, said: "We're delighted to welcome Charles Hanson and the Hansons Auctioneers team to RHS Harlow Carr this October.
"It's a wonderful opportunity for visitors to learn more about treasured possessions and uncover the stories behind them, while enjoying the beauty of the garden as autumn colour begins to take hold."
The event offers a chance to explore the gardens during one of the most vibrant times of the year, with seasonal displays and autumn foliage beginning to emerge.
Valuations will be given on items that visitors can comfortably carry themselves.
The event is open to all, with garden admission applying unless visitors are RHS members.
