A North Yorkshire wildlife artist is to appear on a popular television show this week.

Robert E Fuller will feature in the latest series of Channel 5’s Our Great Yorkshire Life on Friday, October 9.

The programme, which celebrates the people, places and passions that make Yorkshire unique, will visit Robert at his gallery and studio in Thixendale.

Robert, who is well known for his work documenting the secret lives of Yorkshire’s wildlife through his paintings, photography and films, has a lifelong passion for wildlife – so much so he devotes much of his time to the conservation and rehabilitation of animals.

In this episode, viewers get an inside look his unique method of rehabilitating rescued owls. Viewers will follow him as he places young tawny owl chicks into a wild nest, giving them the chance to grow up in the wild – brought up by wild owls.

Our Great Yorkshire Life follows the lives of people from across the county, exploring the traditions, landscapes, communities and passions that make Yorkshire distinctive.

The current series features a range of Yorkshire characters and stories, from farmers and craftspeople to conservation projects and rural businesses. Emmerdale actor Gaynor Faye featured in the first episode.

Robert’s appearance forms part of episode five of the third series.

Our Great Yorkshire Life featuring Robert E Fuller airs on Channel 5 at 8pm on Friday, October 9.
