FIRE crews are monitoring a woodland fire in a coastal North Yorkshire town.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says their crews from Filey and Scarborough were called to Langdale End in Scarborough at 5.27pm yesterday evening (October 3) after reports of a woodland fire.

“Crews located the fire and made their way on foot. The fire was monitored overnight and the incident is still ongoing,” said a spokesperson for the service.
