A fundraising challenge is inviting people to get moving in support of breast cancer patients.
York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity has launched the '100 Miles in October Challenge', encouraging participants to walk, run, cycle, or swim 100 miles during the month to raise funds for breast cancer care.
The challenge is designed to raise money for patient support and experience improvements at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which diagnosed around 650 people with breast cancer in the past year.
Ellie Brook, whose mother was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, is taking part in the challenge.
Ms Brook said: "My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, so taking part in the 100 Miles in October Challenge felt like a positive way to show my support and do something meaningful while she continues her journey.
"The breast cancer team have been absolutely amazing and have made this process easier to navigate, providing my mum with so much reassurance."
Every £15 raised could fund a specialist mastectomy bra, while £76 could help provide a wig for patients experiencing hair loss due to treatment.
The challenge is open to all, and participants can complete the full distance or set a personal goal.
