Sir Kevin Sinfield completes 7 in 7: the Grand Finale - his final MND fundraising challenge for Rob Burrow

Sir Kevin Sinfield has completed his 7 in 7: The Grand Finale run, his final challenge to raise funds and awareness for motor neurone disease.

The rugby league legend finished on the pitch at Old Trafford ahead of tonight’s Super League Grand Final between Warrington and Wakefield, with his son Jack in the squad for Trinity.

He had finished running every day for seven days, visiting each of the home grounds of the 12 English Betfred Super League clubs.

He started in Hull last Sunday and has run through York, Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford.

Prince William and Catherine surprised the former Leeds Rhinos star at Trinity’s DIY Kitchens Stadium on Tuesday.

His final day’s route took him from the Brewdog Stadium, the home of St Helens, through Warrington, and finishing at the Theatre of Dreams.

By the time he arrived, he had raised more than £1.3m for an array of charities, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland, Leeds Hospitals Charity and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

This is Sir Kevin’s seventh and final ultra-running challenge to raise awareness and money for the MND community.

Inspired by his former Leeds Rhinos team-mate Rob Burrow, who died in 2024 after living with MND for four-and-a-half years, Sinfield and his team have raised over £11m for the MND community since the event began in 2020.
