A restaurant and takeaway specialising in curries, parmesans and chicken has been hit with a one-star food hygiene rating after mouse droppings were found.
Hajvery Ltd, located on Athol Road in Bradford, received a one-star rating in its most recent inspection in January of this year.
Inspectors identified a range of food hygiene, structural, and management issues at the Manningham business.
What was wrong?
Chicken pakoras were found on display without proper temperature control.
Cooked curries, chicken, and raw products in fridges were missing preparation, cooking, and use-by dates.
Raw meat was not stored at the bottom of refrigerators, increasing the risk of cross-contamination.
Food stored in freezers was uncovered and not labelled.
Pest control needed
Mouse droppings were discovered behind a freezer.
The inspector advised urgent contact with the pest control contractor to determine if the infestation was ongoing.
Food debris also required cleaning to prevent attracting pests.
Food residue builds up
Structural concerns included carpeting in food preparation areas, which the inspector said could not be effectively cleaned and should be replaced with a suitable, impervious surface.
Wood surfaces on the serving counter were also deemed unsuitable, as they were not smooth or easily cleanable.
Food residue and debris had built up behind and beneath kitchen equipment, requiring thorough cleaning.
