The family of a teenager killed in a crash near Selby have today paid tribute to “the world’s greatest”.
Alfie Miller, 19, died when the blue Land Rover SVR he was in collided with the rear of a tractor that was towing a large trailer loaded with hay bales.
It happened at 7.30pm on Monday (28 September) as he travelled east on the A163 near Barlby and the junction of Whitemoor Lane.

Today his family paid a heartfelt tribute to him, saying: “In loving memory of the world’s greatest Alfie Miller, our beautiful son, only 19.
“He was the most kind and loving and ambitious young man you could have ever met. He had dreams and he had plans, and we know he would have accomplished them all. Just look at what he had achieved already.
“Alfie was an extraordinary young man. He was an incredible businessman, with so much ambition, determination and drive that made him stand out from a very young age.

“But our Alfie was so much more than his achievements. He was our whole world, and our hearts are so broken. He was the most charismatic, charming young man.
“Any room he entered, he would light it up. You couldn’t help but love him.”
They continued: “He was larger than life, and he always had a smile on his face.
“Our son was one in a million, and there will never be another like him. We will forever wonder what more he would have achieved, because we know there was so much more to come.
“The unbelievable amount of love shown following his death shows just how many lives our Alfie touched. We have had hundreds of photos, videos and messages sent to us by everyone who loved him.
“Alfie, you are irreplaceable. We are unbelievably proud of everything you achieved in your short life and how you lived it to the full, but most of all, we are so proud to have called you ours.
“Our beautiful Alfie. Our businessman. Our son. Our brother. Our inspiration. Our boy. Forever 19. Forever loved.
“We will miss you forever, keep it lit up there always and forever my Alfie.”
North Yorkshire Police said after the crash that a second 19-year-old in the Land Rover was hurt and taken to hospital, as was the driver of the tractor.
The tractor driver and a 17-year-old were helping police with their enquiries.
They continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
