A York restaurant is closed and boarded up today (Friday) after it was targeted by ram raiders.
They reversed a dark-coloured Nissan Juke into the front of Zeera Spice on Lindsey Avenue at about 12.30am.

Where it happened

There is a broken pane of glass left at the scene today with boards covering the damage.
As we reported earlier, North Yorkshire Police said they found the Juke abandoned at the premises.
A vehicle which was believed to be travelling in convoy with the Juke was stopped later this morning and two people were arrested by West Yorkshire Police.
A Lindsey Avenue resident had gone to bed half an hour before the incident. He woke to the flashing blue lights of emergency services vehicles.
He told YorkMix the restaurant building had been damaged by another car which drove into it just days earlier.
This was a silver pick-up vehicle. It hit the corner of the building, leaving broken glass and a damaged bin.
There are still tyre marks visible from this collision.
The owner of Zeera Spice only took over a couple of weeks ago. He said he couldn’t believe what had happened, and had no idea why his restaurant appeared to have been targeted.
North Yorkshire Police said they were aware of the incident on Sunday night and are investigating to see if they are linked.
