WINTER vaccinations are now available across West Yorkshire.

The NHS is offering free flu and Covid-19 vaccines to eligible groups as part of its seasonal programme to help protect vulnerable people during the colder months.

Dr James Thomas, GP and medical director for the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, said: "Flu and COVID-19 cause serious illness and spread more easily during winter when we spend more time indoors.

"Seasonal vaccinations reduce your risk of becoming seriously unwell and needing hospital treatment.

"They can also help protect those around you who may be particularly vulnerable.

"If you are eligible and have not yet booked an appointment, please do so as soon as you can.

"Vaccination takes only a few minutes and provides important protection throughout winter."

Flu vaccines are available for anyone aged 65 and over, people with certain long-term health conditions, care home residents, carers, and those living with immunocompromised individuals.

Covid-19 jabs are being offered to residents in care homes for older adults, adults aged 75 and over (including those turning 75 by January 31, 2027), and immunosuppressed individuals aged six months to 74 years.

Appointments can be booked through the NHS App, the National Booking Service, or by calling 119.
