Darlington residents are being invited to help plant thousands of spring bulbs to boost biodiversity and brighten the town’s parks.
Darlington Council will hold planting events during the October half-term at Stanhope Park, North Lodge Park and North Park.
Volunteers will plant around 8,500 bulbs around more than 100 trees to support pollinators and wildlife.

Councillor Libby McCollom, cabinet member for local services, said: "Projects like this support one of our main priorities, laid out in the Council Plan, to create a well-connected, clean and sustainable borough.
"This project is about much more than planting bulbs.
"It's an opportunity for people to get involved in their parks, support wildlife and create something they can come back and enjoy throughout the year.
"I would like to thank our council and staff and all the Friends Groups whose tireless volunteering helps to create a friendly, community atmosphere in our parks."

The council hopes residents will informally adopt the trees around which they plant bulbs and visit them throughout the year as the seasons change.
No gardening experience is needed, and equipment and bulbs will be provided, although attendees should bring a hand trowel if they have one.
Planting sessions will run from 10am to 12pm on Monday, October 26, at Stanhope Park’s centre circle; Tuesday, October 27, at North Lodge Park’s bandstand; and Wednesday, October 28, at North Park’s bandstand.
