Leeds woman mortified after neighbours' letter about her bathroom window

Evie, from Leeds, was red-faced after receiving a letter from neighbours describing her bathroom window as 'very see-through'

The bathroom is one place where we expect privacy, whether we're having a shower or getting ready for the day. But a Leeds woman discovered hers wasn't quite as private as she thought after a letter arrived from her neighbours.

Frosted windows are a common feature in bathrooms, helping to obscure the view from outside. However, they don't always guarantee complete privacy, particularly after dark when the lights are on inside.

Evie was left red-faced when she opened a letter posted through her letterbox by neighbours living in the house behind hers. They wanted to warn her that her bathroom window was more revealing than she might have realised.

Their note began: "Hey! We really hope this isn't weird, but we're from the house behind you and just wanted to let you know your bathroom window is very see-through..

"Definitely not trying to embarrass you, and again hope this isn't too weird, but we just wanted to let you know! We are an all-girl household also!

"But there are men on either side of us (yuck). Stay safe and have a lovely rest of your week xo".

Evie shared a photograph of the letter on her TikTok page, @ev1e4, with the caption "Happy Monday!" The post quickly garnered hundreds of comments and hundreds of thousands of views.

Viewers flooded the comments section to applaud the neighbour for alerting Evie to the blunder. One person commented: "That was a very brave and sweet gesture, bless their hearts."

Another wrote: "I'd leave a big thank you sign on the window for her."

A third shared: "My mum made me stay at her new house after dark so we could determine just how see thru her bathroom window was. Window film was ordered shortly after."

A fourth revealed: "I've almost wrote this letter to the house behind mine. Their bathroom window is opposite my boys bedroom window and their toilet is right next to the window. We can see everything."

While frosted windows offer substantial privacy during evening hours by dispersing light and obscuring clear details, very sharp silhouettes or close-up shadows may still be faintly visible when a bright light is positioned directly behind someone.
