York Vikings Rotary Club has appointed a new president.
Richard Watson has taken over the role from Mick Fox, who completed his second term this summer.
Mr Fox said: "It’s been a brilliant year and I have loved every minute of it.
"But I am delighted to know that the future of the club is in excellent hands as Richard takes on the role."
He described Rotary as a blend of service, friendship, and fun.
Mr Fox added: "There is a huge satisfaction to be had from putting service before self, and it is so rewarding to see the positive impact which Viking Rotary club members have working together in the community and further afield."
Mr Watson, a retired senior partner at Crombie Wilkinson, has a long record of public service.
He said: "Never has the need for support for the vulnerable been stronger, both in our York community and further afield."
