This October, The York Dungeon’s Torture Room will open as a tattoo studio for one night only.
It is to celebrate the attraction‘s brand-new Halloween show Mother Shipton: The Great Prophetess.
On Wednesday 21 October, those brave enough to go under the needle will have the choice of five exclusive Dungeon-inspired designs from local tattoo artist Emma Swanton (Swan Tattoos), each priced at £120.
There are six slots available on the day, starting at 5:30pm, and participants will be selected in a random draw.
Those interested in taking part in this highly exclusive opportunity simply need to select their preferred timeslot on The York Dungeon website, and keep their fingers crossed…
The chosen six will also receive a free pair of tickets to see Mother Shipton: The Great Prophetess at the attraction, which is running from 10 October to 1 November.

The dastardly designs include a crystal ball, a plague doctor, and other spooky designs, and can be placed anywhere on either arm.
The total cost for the tattoo is £120: a £90 non-refundable deposit to the artist at the time of booking confirmation, and a £30 donation to the York Dungeon’s charity partner, Merlin’s Magic Wand, an international children’s charity dedicated to unlocking the magic of Merlin through play for children facing adversity.
Mark Mattinson, duty manager at the York Dungeon, said: “We can’t wait to welcome six brave souls to be permanently marked in our Torture Room…
“This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and Emma Swanton has brought the spirit of Halloween and The York Dungeon to life in her exclusive tattoo designs.
“Plus, what better activity for a tattoo-loving fear fan, than doing it for charity? Merlin’s Magic Wand does truly inspiring work, and we are thrilled to be showing our support in the spookiest way we know.”
