Police have seized a "nuisance" off-road bike as part of ongoing efforts to tackle anti-social riding.

Officers confiscated the bike on Tuesday night after receiving reports of off-road vehicles being ridden around Batley and causing disruption to local residents.

The vehicle was seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act, which gives police powers to act against vehicles being used in an anti-social manner.

The latest seizure is part of continued action by police to target nuisance riders, an issue that regularly generates complaints from communities.

A police spokesperson said officers will not hesitate to take action where vehicles are being used in a way that causes "nuisance, annoyance or distress."
