A care technology startup has secured fresh investment to expand its impact in the sector.

Sheffield-based Motion has raised an undisclosed six-figure sum from impact investors to help bring its software to more care providers and local authorities.

The platform helps care teams turn care plans into daily activities in seconds, aiming to promote independence and reduce time spent on planning and paperwork.

Zeezy Izenman, CEO and founder of Motion, said: "The Prime Minister has this week set out his ambition for a National Care Service.

"Whatever shape it takes, care will need to show what it achieves.

"Giving care teams time back, and showing commissioners the outcomes their money buys, is where technology can help.

"This funding, from truly value-aligned investors, lets us bring Motion to more providers and local authorities, so more people receive care built around what matters to them."

The investment follows a pre-seed round last year and comes amid growing national focus on care system reform.

Motion’s software allows care staff to record outcomes as care is delivered, rather than writing reports afterwards.

It was co-developed with input from more than 4,000 people, including care providers, recipients, and their families.

The company aims to be working with 2,000 care providers by 2028.
