A HUMANITARIAN worker is preparing for his 21st aid mission.

Nazim Ali, who will travel to Malawi with the Keighley-based charity Green Crescent Aid UK from October 17 to 25, is aiming to raise £10,000 to deliver at least 285 food parcels to families in need.

Mr Ali said: "This will be my 21st humanitarian aid trip in the last 12 years.

"In Malawi, families will be struggling for food.

"Large families are surviving in many cases on one meal a day."

Each food parcel costs £35, weighs at least 32kg, and contains essential items such as maize flour, rice, sugar, and soya.

So far, Mr Ali has raised just over £6,000.

He described extreme poverty during his last visit to Malawi in October 2019, where he saw children without shoes, families living in mud huts, and people walking miles for clean water.

The four-person UK team will also provide hot meals, distribute 160 live goats, and visit hospitals and health clinics during the trip.

Mr Ali said he is grateful to sponsors including Bradford-based Saveco Cash & Carry and Arome (King of Steaks).

The charity operates under a 100 per cent donation policy, ensuring all funds go directly to those in need.
