Alan Shearer has described his daughter Chloe as a "stunning" bride after she tied the knot with rugby star Mick Young last weekend.

The former Newcastle United and England striker, 56, shared a heartfelt message on social media following the ceremony at Forcett Hall Estate in North Yorkshire, just west of Darlington.

Mr Shearer said: "Another weekend. Another daughter’s wedding! Stunning @chloeshearer1. Congratulation’s Mr & Mrs Young!"

Chloe, 34, wore a strapless lace gown with an elegant updo hairstyle, while her husband, Gloucester scrum-half and former Newcastle Falcons player Mick Young, 37, opted for a white tuxedo.

Photos posted online show the couple celebrating their special day, with Chloe beaming next to her father.

TV presenter Holly Willoughby also commented on the pictures, writing: "What a beautiful bride… just wonderful… happy days."

It has been a summer of love for the Shearer family, with Chloe’s younger sister Hollie, 31, also marrying a rugby star.

Hollie wed England international Joe Marchant, 30, in August during a ceremony in Winchester, Hampshire, where Mr Shearer returned from the World Cup to attend the wedding.

Earlier this year, Hollie had shared photos from her hen party on Instagram.

Mr Marchant was a key player for England during the 2023 World Cup, where the team finished third under coach Steve Borthwick.
