A new Tesco Express has opened in County Durham this morning, creating 18 jobs and bringing new services to the community.
Middlestone Moor Express welcomed its first customers on Thursday, October at Unit 1, Binchester House, Durham Road.
The Spennymoor store is close to local schools and businesses, offering residents essentials, food on the go and quick top-up shops.
It has an in-store bakery, a Costa Coffee machine, an ATM, InPost lockers and Tesco's rapid delivery service, Whoosh.
Customers can also use the food-to-go counter and on-site car park.
The store has a team of 18, including 14 new recruits.

Store manager Lisa Allen said she was excited to lead the new store after 26 years with Tesco.
She said: "I'm incredibly excited to be opening and managing our new Middlestone Moor Express.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to build a strong team, support the local community and create a friendly environment for both customers and colleagues.
"I joined Tesco 26 years ago and have been a store manager for 18 years across stores in the North East.
"I'm excited to use my experience to help our new team to develop at Tesco and create a team that delivers great customer service."
"We look forward to welcoming our customers into our new store and making their everyday shopping more convenient, as well as making a positive difference to our vibrant community," she added.
The store will support local causes through Tesco's community programmes.
Schools and community groups are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £1,500 through the retailer's Free Fruit & Veg for Schools scheme, while shoppers will be able to vote for local projects using the blue token programme.
