Widely respected figure from days of Stray FM takes up senior role at Your Harrogate radio station
Former Stray FM boss Sarah Barry has returned to the world of radio as the new Managing Director of Your Harrogate just weeks after stepping down from Harrogate Town football club.
Barry, who served as chief executive of Harrogate Town from 2021 to 2026 during the most successful period in the club’s history, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Born in Harrogate and a passionate supporter of the town’s interests, Sarah began her career in advertising sales at the Harrogate Advertiser and Yorkshire Post before joining Stray FM in 1994, later returning as Managing Director after management roles across commercial radio in Yorkshire.
As Your Harrogate’s new Managing Director, she will renew a working relationship from her Stray FM days with Your Harrogate’s co-founder and current Managing Director Adam Daniel, who will become CEO, focusing on commercial growth and the continued expansion of the group.
Barry will oversee the day-to-day management of Your Harrogate and work with the wider team to support the company’s continued growth.

Boasting a packed CV of achievement, Sarah Barry founded the Harrogate Local Hero Awards and was named Harrogate Ambassador of the Year in 2016 for her contribution to the district.
Your Harrogate’s Adam Daniel described her as the ideal person to lead the radio station into its next chapter.

Your Harrogate was launched independently in 2021, just months after Stray FM was subsumed into German media giant Bauer’s Greatest Hits Radio.
