A street in a North Yorkshire town has reopened following a serious incident.

Emergency services had been dealing with the crash in Wreyfield Drive at Newby, Scarborough, which happened at around 10.15am today (Wednesday)

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "A road closure remained until 3.50pm while the vehicle involved was recovered.

"More details will be released in due course.

"Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage are urged to call North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference NYP-30092026-0146."
