Farm safety will take centre stage at a key industry debate this autumn in Harrogate.
The 2026 Future Farmers Autumn Debate, taking place on Monday, November 23, at the Pavilions of Harrogate, will bring together professionals from across Yorkshire’s agricultural sector.
They will discuss practical steps for safer and more productive farming under the theme: Heads Up: Practical Steps for a Safe and Productive Farm.
The event begins at 6pm with a complimentary supper and networking, followed by a panel discussion at 7.30pm.
Organised in partnership with the Yorkshire Rural Support Network and sponsored by McClarrons, the debate will focus on everyday actions that can improve safety, wellbeing, and efficiency on farms.
Sally Connor, business development executive at McClarrons, said: "McClarrons is proud to support the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Future Farmers Evening.
"As an independent insurance broker with a long-standing connection to the agricultural community, we understand the everyday risks faced by rural businesses.
"The evening will focus on safety and proactive risk management, themes that align closely with our Better Sorted Than Sorry campaign, which shares practical advice throughout the farming calendar and encourages farmers to think ahead, identify potential risks and take action before problems arise."
Attendees will be eligible to claim two BASIS points.
The Future Farmers of Yorkshire was launched in 2010 to connect like-minded farmers, vets, and industry supporters, and now has more than 1,000 members.
The group is supported by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and is open to anyone working within the industry, from tenants and owner-occupiers to managers and employees.
The Yorkshire Rural Support Network is a partnership of farming organisations, charities, and voluntary agencies that work together to provide practical, financial, medical, and emotional support to those living and working in rural communities.
Speaker details for the event will be announced closer to the date.
