A multi-academy trust spanning West Yorkshire has appointed a new chief executive officer.
Helen Pratten has taken on the role at Abbey Multi Academy Trust, which oversees eight schools across Leeds and Calderdale.
Ms Pratten said: "It is a privilege to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Abbey Multi Academy Trust.
"As we begin this new chapter, my focus will be on listening carefully, building on what is already working well, growing in the areas and communities where we excel and ensuring we create the conditions for every school and every child to thrive."
She joined the trust in 2017 as Executive Principal for Primary and has served as co-CEO for the past six years.
Abbey Trust includes five primary and three secondary schools.
Ms Pratten’s vision centres on maintaining each school’s identity while ensuring all pupils receive a high-quality education.
She plans to keep children at the centre of decision-making, strengthen collaboration across schools, and expand professional development opportunities for staff.
The trust is recognised for its focus on school improvement, leadership development, and inclusive education, particularly for pupils with additional needs.
It also prioritises oracy, helping students develop confidence and critical thinking skills.
