A patient's phone was stolen while they waited in the A&E reception room at York Hospital.
North Yorkshire Police has issued a photograph of a woman officers want to speak to after the theft on Tuesday, September 22.
A police spokesperson said the thief "walked out of the hospital and can be seen on CCTV pocketing the stolen phone".
They added that the thief "walked into the hospital looking around as if targeting others before leaving promptly after the theft".
