A care home in Stamford Bridge has welcomed a specialist visitor to talk about sight loss support and services.

Stamford Bridge Beaumont hosted Vicky Colombi from My Sight York on Monday, September 28, for an informative session aimed at raising awareness of the resources available to individuals living with sight loss in York and surrounding areas.

The talk was open to residents, relatives, and members of the local community and formed part of the care home’s ongoing programme of community events.

Nikki Mould, operations manager at Stamford Bridge Beaumont, said: "We were grateful for Vicky’s visit to the home and for engaging with our guests.

"Sight loss can have a real impact on a person’s confidence and independence, so having the opportunity to learn more about the support that is available locally will be incredibly valuable.

"We’re passionate about opening our doors to the wider community and creating opportunities where people can come together, meet local organisations and find out about services that could make a positive difference to their lives."

The event provided attendees with a chance to learn more about My Sight York’s services and how the organisation can support people with sight loss to maintain their independence and wellbeing.

Stamford Bridge Beaumont is part of Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.

The care home offers residential, nursing, and dementia care for 89 residents, including both respite and long-term placements.
