'I'm a self-proclaimed loo enthusiast - and three of my favourite toilets are in Yorkshire'

A self-proclaimed 'loo enthusiast' has named Britain's most luxurious toilets after inventing a rating app – and three of her top 10 are in Yorkshire.

Yolanda Cuevas-Beck, 48, says she has spent her whole life judging toilets and sharing the findings with family and friends.

Now, using AI, she has managed to create her own website and app called Porcelain Report to connect a network of loo reviewers and flush out the best ones.

The finance worker from Guildford says the bathrooms are rated on their cleanliness, accessibility, glamour, and how well the appliances work.

A final score out of five stars is then worked out from these ratings, and it is placed onto the venue map.

Her favourite toilets are at the Ivy as they are very colourful and usually well looked after, while her least favourite is the Burger King by Waterloo Station.

But she has also praised three toilets in Yorkshire – including one at a Yorkshire culinary institution.

Yolanda said: "Sometimes you go to a restaurant which is beautiful and has lovely food but when you go to the loo it is just a box.

Self-proclaimed loo enthusiast, Yolanda Cuevas-Beck, 48, has created an app to rank public toilets on how luxurious they are.

"I care about all the public loos. I think it is important for the establishments to know that people are looking at them.

"People are rating the food, so why can't we also rate the loos.

"It is an essential part. If they care about what they are offering me they will have pride and make sure that they have a nice communal loo."

Yolanda, who is originally from the Dominican Republic, says it took her about a month to set up Porcelain Report around her day job.

Her users are still slowly building, but she says that she has many passionate people writing reviews and filling out extra information such as whether the toilet is free or paid.

The site has particularly been a hit with people who require an accessible toilet, so that they can rank how well it did.

Yolanda added: "Lots of people say it is very niche and ask how I came up with this idea. But a lot of people say it is necessary to catalogue all the different loos.

"I think it is important. Once I get a lot of ratings the establishments will know what people think about their loos.

"When I started my goal was to find beautiful and clean loos, but I noticed lots of people are looking for accessible loos.

"People write paragraphs about how unhappy they are with the loos."

She has since created a top ten list, which is constantly changing, of her favourite loos.

Yolanda is also very proud of her toilets at home, which she keeps spotless.

She said: "My loos at home are not only shiny but beautiful."

The top ten list is:

  1. The Ivy

  2. Sea Containers Hotel, South Bank, London

  3. German Gymnasium, Kings Cross, London

  4. BORGO, Reigate, Surrey

  5. Sora, York

  6. Rustique, York
