Everything Good Goes seems an apt name for a Tadcaster café/restaurant that closed at the weekend.
The popular venue at 2 Westgate called it a day after ten years as its owners “seek fresh pastures.”
The closure has been met with sadness in the town, with some customers said to be crying at the news.
Everything Good Goes, known affectionately as “EGG”, opened in September 2016 on the site of the former Calcaria pub.

It was run by John and Natasha Stainthorpe, owners of Tadcaster children’s bike specialists Cyclesense, which is situated next door.
At the time the couple said they wanted to create ethically sourced loose leaf tea and coffee, and food, pastries, healthy snacks and cakes.
Over the years the popular venue evolved into also offering handmade sourdough pizzas, cocktails and craft beer.

It received rave reviews online, with TripAdvisor awarding 4.8 stars out of five, based on 92 reviews and Google awarding 4.7 stars out of five, based on 355 Google reviews.
The business has 2,300 followers on Facebook.
Two weeks ago, however, the Stainthorpes announced they were closing at the end of September for “pastures new” and “to begin and exciting new chapter.”
John told the Press the decision to close on the restaurant’s tenth anniversary was made in January.

He said: “It was a dream of ours [to open the venue].
“But we wanted to finish this year on our tenth anniversary.
“We have more children, I have my other business and Natasha wanted to do something else.
“We both wanted to move on.”
John continued: “It [closure] was always going to be when we had had enough.
“We had a good business with a good reputation.
“I have had people crying they are going to miss it that much.
“We have made a lot of friends and made a real impact on Tadcaster.
“We are really proud at what we achieved.
“We also want a change of pace and scenery.”

John owns the building Everything Good Goes was based in and he has “exciting plans” for the building, which he will reveal when he is ready.
He added: “Everyone is interested in them because when I do something, I do it right.
“But it’s a bit early to do it just yet.”
Among the comments posted on Facebook, one said: “We came, we ate, we reminisced about all the meals out and celebrations we have had at EGG over the last ten years...won't be the same without you! Would love to know what the future looks like for you and the venue!”
Another commented: “Thank you so much for some brilliant times over the years.
Bikes, beers and pizzas will never be better. Good luck in everything you do. Turns out you were right all along, Everything Good Goes.”
