Coffee, cake and the community helped raise funds for a cancer charity at a recent care home event in Boroughbridge.
A coffee morning and bake sale took place at Boroughbridge Manor on Friday, September 25, in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event brought together residents, staff, families and members of the community to enjoy homemade treats and raise funds for a good cause.
Lynnette Sellers, general manager at Boroughbridge Manor, said: "Our Macmillan coffee morning has been a huge amount of fun; everyone at the home is always keen to support this fantastic charity in any way we can.
"We are very glad to be able to do our bit to raise further awareness for Macmillan and money for the charity."
The home’s head chef, Rob, baked a selection of cakes, biscuits and pastries for guests to enjoy on the day or take home.
Residents also contributed by baking their own treats for the occasion.
Sheila, a resident at Boroughbridge Manor, said: "Macmillan is such a fantastic charity and they do such amazing work in the community, we all love raising money for them, and the best bit is, we get to eat each cake at the same time."
The event raised £66 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The site said every donation helps the charity continue its work supporting people living with cancer to live as fully as possible.
Boroughbridge Manor is part of Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, offering dementia, residential and respite care.
