A York-based tech company has been named one of the best places to work in the UK for the fifth year running.

Phoenix Software earned its latest recognition in the UK’s Best Workplaces in Tech 2026 list.

This follows recent success in the 100 Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe 2026, where the company ranked 51st overall and sixth among UK-certified organisations.

Craig Taylor, chief technology officer at Phoenix Software, said: "Being recognised for a fifth consecutive year as one of the UK's Best Workplaces in Tech is particularly meaningful because it is based on what our own people tell us about working at Phoenix and the public sector organisations we serve.

"As an employer, I feel it is important to listen to our staff.

"This ensures we invest in the things that our people tell us matters most to them: their development, workplace flexibility, and making sure everyone feels included — not just accounted for."

The European ranking was compiled by Great Place To Work and based on confidential feedback from more than 1.5 million employees across the continent.

Phoenix was one of just 16 UK-certified organisations to make the European list.

Mr Taylor added: "To also be recognised among the 100 Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe makes this an especially proud moment for everyone at Phoenix.

"We have worked hard to create an environment where people are trusted, supported to develop and able to have a genuine influence on the business."

According to its Great Place To Work profile, 92 per cent of Phoenix staff say it is a great place to work, compared with 54 per cent at a typical UK company.

The company has also been named on Great Place To Work’s lists for wellbeing, women, and development, and holds multi-year certification.
