Work on this important road continues

North Yorkshire Council says good progress continues on the Sutton Bank drainage improvement works.

Over the past week, teams have been carrying out carriageway and verge excavations and installing a new 300mm diameter carrier pipe between Gormire Farm and the south hairpin. This work also includes the construction of new drainage chambers and the replacement of road gullies.

By 4 October, according to the council, the project is expected to have delivered:

940 metres of new drainage
19 new chambers
62 replacement road gullies

This week, work will continue in the area, with reinstatement of the carriageway using hot rolled asphalt followed by replacement road lining works.

Diversions are signed while the project is finished.
