Something tasty is set to open in Northallerton this month.
Italian wine bar and kitchen Veeno has announced it will open at Northallerton’s Treadmills development on Thursday 15 October.
The venue, run by local franchisee Chris Fernandes, will bring wines from the Caruso & Minini family vineyard in Marsala, Sicily, to the town’s former prison site, alongside Italian food, cocktails and guided wine tastings.
Chris Fernandes said: “It’s exciting to finally have a date to share with Northallerton.
“We’ve had a fantastic response since announcing Veeno, and the team is looking forward to welcoming people through the doors on 15 October.”
“Whether it’s a glass of wine after work, a meal with friends or a celebration, we want to create a destination people enjoy coming back to.”
Founded by Sicilian entrepreneur Nino Caruso, Veeno was created to share the wines produced at his family’s Caruso & Minini vineyard. At its heart is the Italian tradition of aperitivo: taking time to enjoy food, wine and conversation together.
Guests at the Northallerton venue will be able to choose from sharing boards of Italian cheeses and cured meats, Roman-style pinsa, fresh pasta and dishes including Sicilian sausage with roasted potatoes. Desserts include tiramisu and cannoli filled with sweet ricotta.
The wine list features bottles from Nino Caruso’s family vineyard, as well as wines from other Italian producers. Guests can also book Veeno’s tasting experiences, including Quattro Vini, which pairs four red or white wines with Italian meats and cheeses, and* A Trip to Sicily*, featuring five exclusive Caruso & Minini wines with Italian food pairings. Italian afternoon tea will also be available.
To mark the Northallerton opening, Veeno is running a competition offering one winner and a guest a trip to Sicily, including a visit to the Caruso & Minini vineyard in Marsala.
