A BAKERY is expanding its menu with a new offering.

Three Little Birds Bakery, which has branches in Keighley and Ilkley, will now sell fresh artisanal bread alongside its signature cakes and sweet treats, thanks to a new partnership with The Secret Bakery in Harrogate.

The collaboration comes after repeated customer requests for bread, particularly since the opening of the Ilkley branch.

'People have been asking for years'

Bec Severs, owner of Three Little Birds Bakery, said: "People have been asking about bread for years, but we knew we’d never make it ourselves.

"Opening in Ilkley, we’ve been inundated with requests for bread, so when the Secret Bakery got in touch it just seemed like a perfect opportunity."

Other company 'aligns with our values'

The Secret Bakery, an artisan micro-bakery and coffee shop based on Knaresborough Road in Harrogate, specialises in hand-crafted bread made without processing aids or artificial additives.

Their ethos aligns closely with that of Three Little Birds.

Ms Severs said: "The fact that everything is homemade and they only use a few simple ingredients really aligns with our values.

"More people are turning to bread which isn’t as highly processed.

"I’d love to plug that gap so more people have access to handmade bread.

"And it’s absolutely delicious."

How the collabration worked

James Spencer from The Secret Bakery said: "I saw some posts on Facebook from Three Little Birds saying they were being inundated with requests for bread.

"As we’re local and bake fresh loaves every week, I thought I’d drop them a line.

"After a few emails and a meeting, and letting them sample our bread, we were delighted to hear from Bec that they loved the bread and would like to work with us.

"We are delighted to be working with Three Little Birds and we can’t wait to get started."

How it will work

From Tuesday to Saturday, both Three Little Birds locations will stock fresh white and wholemeal sourdough loaves.

Specialty breads, such as rosemary and sea salt focaccia, will be available on Fridays and Saturdays.

Three Little Birds Bakery has been serving cakes, macarons, cookies, and other sweet bakes since 2015.

The addition of artisan bread marks a new chapter in its continued growth and commitment to customer demand.
