Asda shoppers can save money on fuel with a new promotion.

The supermarket chain is offering customers 5p off per litre at 262 petrol stations across the country, including Asda Express sites, when they spend £40 or more in-store.

The offer is valid on purchases made between September 23 and October 14 and could save drivers up to £3 on a typical 60-litre fill-up.

The 5p-per-litre fuel coupon is automatically added to the Asda Rewards app and can be used for a single fuel purchase until October 31 at participating Asda filling stations.

The promotion comes as families continue to feel the pinch from rising living costs.

Asda’s latest Income Tracker shows that household spending power growth slowed to 3.4 per cent last month, the lowest rate since March.

The supermarket’s monthly Income Tracker measures the amount of disposable income households have left after paying taxes and essential bills.

With fuel prices remaining high and other expenses mounting, the discount is expected to provide some welcome relief for drivers.

Asda has previously run similar fuel promotions in response to rising costs.
