A North Yorkshire housing association has appointed a new chair as its long-serving board leader steps down after completing six years in the role.
Tim Payne will take over as chair of Broadacres Housing Association, based in Northallerton, following the departure of Helen Simpson OBE.
Mr Payne said: "I’m honoured to have been appointed as Chair of Broadacres and looking forward to building on the legacy that Helen leaves behind.
"I’m delighted to continue working with the Board, executive team and colleagues as we face the opportunities and challenges of providing much needed affordable homes across our market towns, and rural and coastal communities."

He also recently served as senior independent director at Broadacres.
Ms Simpson, who completed a six-year term as chair, said: "It has been an honour to lead Broadacres and I will be cheering the team on from a distance as they continue to play an important role in in the region.
"My thanks go to all the Board Members and colleagues and partners who have contributed so much to Broadacres in the last six years."
During her time as chair, Broadacres prioritised investment in energy efficiency for its housing stock and maintained a strong regional presence.
Claire Townson, chief executive of Broadacres, said: "We are incredibly grateful for Helen’s leadership and commitment over the past six years.
"Her leadership has laid an enduring foundation for Broadacres future.
"We wish Helen all the very best in her next chapter."
