Arrests made after unexplained death of 28-year-old man in York

Arrests have been made after the sudden death of a 28-year-old man who was found collapsed at a home in York in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Paramedics were called to a house on Wood Street in the Heworth area at around 11pm on Friday night, but have now confirmed the man later died in hospital.

His death is being treated as unexplained, as investigations continue.

Police said two people were arrested on Sunday morning and remained in custody for questioning yesterday afternoon. They were a man, aged 54, and a 36-year-old woman.

The man’s family have been informed and are being supported while police enquiries continue, a spokesperson said for North Yorkshire Police.
