Police are investigating a number of rural crimes, including the theft of 1,000 litres of fuel.

The fuel was stolen from a site in the Bradford district between September 20 and 21, alongside a large quantity of power cable.

Against a backdrop of soaring fuel prices, offenders cut through fencing to access a storage container, according to West Yorkshire Police’s Wildlife and Rural Crime Team.

Police have not specified exactly where the crime took place, but did reveal it was in BD15 - a postcode area that includes Wilsden and nearby communities.

This incident is one of several reported across West Yorkshire in the force’s latest rural crime roundup.

A red Honda quad bike and a Polaris Ranger were taken in Holmfirth after a wall was dismantled to access a barn.

Power tools valued at £4,000 were also taken.

The Honda quad was later recovered.

In Aberford, a Country C350 ride-on mower was stolen on September 24 but recovered nearby.

Police believe three suspects were involved.

Other incidents included the theft of a JCB digger from Pontefract, two forklifts from Seacroft, and multiple quad bikes from Yeadon, Thornton, and Huddersfield.

In Beeston, two chickens were stolen from a garden between September 23 and 25.
