ONE of the joys of Northern Perspectives’ stunning aerial photography of our region is his ability to fly his drone into unexplored places.

This is Bleabeck Force, which is the forgotten fall only a stroll on the riverside footpath to the west of High Force.

With its pounding drop and plumes of spray, High Force is everyone’s dramatic favourite, but Bleabeck is its less terrible twin: it is a tiered cascade which breaks its tumble down the Whin Sill.

“The stepped falls, the dark rock, the trees catching that early evening autumn light - it all came together beautifully for this picture,” says photographer Dave Wilkin.

“Teesdale has no shortage of places that stop you in your tracks, and this is definitely one of them.”
