A market town in West Yorkshire has been named one of the best places to go for foodies.

Olive Magazine has released a list of the best places in Yorkshire for foodies featuring restaurant recommendations you cannot miss on your trip.

The list features “buzzing” cities like Sheffield and Leeds as well as “historical” towns with hidden gem food spots.

Hebden Bridge made it onto the list thanks to its brilliant range of shops selling local produce.

Why is Hebden Bridge a great town for foodies?

On the market town, Olive Magazine said: “Famous for its spirited community ethos which has attracted writers and artists for decades, Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire is now a hotbed for culinary creatives.

“At its heart is Kitchen 91, a micro-bakery and dining room in a converted weaver’s warehouse specialising in Italian cuisine with sustainability at its core.

“Independent cooperative Valley Organics sells ethically sourced ingredients from local producers, and Goo Cheese has a range of more than 100 British and continental cheeses with an emphasis on lesser known cheesemakers.

“Stylish contemporary restaurant Coin is the best spot for dinner, serving small plates such as Crown Prince squash, rocket, Loch Arthur yogurt and smoked almonds alongside an extensive list of natural wines.

“For a night cap, lively bottle shop Drink (open until 10pm) has a range of regional craft ales, fruit sours and cloudy gose beers from across the county.”

Alongside the publication’s recommendations, you might also want to try the People’s Pizzeria, which offers pizzas made in the “traditional Neapolitan way” and are baked for only 90 seconds in the wood fired oven.

You can choose from pizzas with a range of different toppings from simple pepperoni and margheritas to vegetarian options and pizzas topped with spicy chorizo, chillies, and spicy hot honey.

You could also try Aya Sophia, a restaurant serving Greek and Mediterranean cuisine using fresh ingredients to create authentic dishes.

Alongside its platters and meze, you can enjoy “some of the best cocktails for miles around” choosing from classics as well as Mediterranean options.

If you are looking for somewhere laidback to have a coffee or breakfast, you can try Mooch Café.

The award-winning café has “an eclectic menu” featuring soups and hearty salads alongside coffees, smoothies, and a range of speciality teas.

To make the most of your trip in Hebden Bridge, Olive Magazine recommends finding an Airbnb to stay in to cook a few of your own meals using local produce.
