A TRAVELLER horse and trap procession is expected to take place in York this weekend, police say.
North Yorkshire Police issued a message yesterday to raise public awareness of the procession which is expected to take place tomorrow (September 27).
The message was issued to allow disruption to be kept to a minimum, although a force spokesperson said the exact details of times and routes have yet to be established.
The spokesperson said: "Last year when this took place the route started at 11am in James Street, then went onto Huntington Road, stopping off at the Hogs Head Pub, Huntington Road.
"The procession then went through New Earswick onto the A1237 towards Clifton Moor and onto Water Lane and into Acomb finishing in Acomb at 4pm at the Beagle pub in Foxwood Lane."
