With Halloween coming up next month, you might be planning some spooky things to do to get your family in the mood for the big day.

Pumpkin picking is a classic Halloween activity that often not only involves finding a great pumpkin but also lots of other exciting things to keep children occupied.

If you are looking for the perfect pumpkin to take home and carve for Halloween, you might want to visit Yorkshire Pumpkins.

Yorkshire Pumpkins can be found just outside of Thirsk and offers families a whole day of fun.

What is Yorkshire Pumpkins like?

Yorkshire Pumpkins has over 70 varieties of pumpkins to choose from, including tiny pumpkins and large ones ideal for carving.

You can also choose from a range of different colours such as classic orange to white, pink, stripey, and even blue pumpkins.

As well as choosing the perfect pumpkin to take home, there are lots of opportunities to take Halloween-themed photos to remember the day.

There is the famous pumpkin door as well as a vintage tractor and a hay bale sofa to take a family photo on.

You might want to get involved in a few of the activities dotted around the pumpkin patch, including pumpkin bowling and pumpkin noughts and crosses.

There are also toy tractors for children to play with and the huge bale mountain that children and adults can try climbing up to get some great views of the whole pumpkin patch.

After exploring the pumpkin patch and having some fun with all of the games available, you might need some food to keep you going.

Stable Pizza Co will be at the patch serving up a range of pizzas with different toppings to choose from.

The pumpkin café is also open for those needing a hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate as well as pumpkin soup and lots of homemade cakes to enjoy.

Yorkshire Pumpkins will be open every weekend in October and then from Thursday, October 22, to Halloween.
