Another illegal e-bike has been taken off Bradford's streets after officers stopped a rider during city centre patrols.
Officers patrolling the Little Germany area spotted the e-bike and decided to investigate further.
After examining the vehicle, the officers determined it fell outside the limits that allow electric bikes to be used legally without registration, insurance or a licence.
As a result, the bike was seized and the rider has been reported.
The seizure forms part of ongoing efforts by police to tackle illegal e-bikes across the Bradford district.
Concerns have repeatedly been raised about the use of modified machines capable of travelling at higher speeds than permitted under UK regulations.
West Yorkshire Police say patrols will continue in Bradford city centre and elsewhere.
Police statement
In a post on social media, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said:
"Whilst carrying out proactive patrols in the Little Germany area of Bradford City Centre, officers came across an e-bike being ridden on the public highway.
"Following checks, it was found that the bike did not meet the legal specifications required for an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) and was therefore being used unlawfully."
The spokesperson added: "We continue to carry out proactive patrols across the district to keep our communities safe and tackle offences that impact on residents, businesses and visitors to the city centre."
