A YOUTH-LED art project is set to celebrate the heritage and creativity of a city through the eyes of its young people.
Bradford Museums’ young ambassadors will explore the city’s past and present as part of a new project led by artist Donna Templeman.
The scheme invites people aged 16 to 25 to co-create large-scale artworks for a new exhibition, including a 3D DNA sculpture and a tapestry.
Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and communities, said: "This is a great opportunity for young people to create something special and engage with professional artists.
"It puts the voices and creativity of Bradford’s young people at the very heart of our heritage, bridging the past and future through art."
A public workshop will take place on Sunday, October 4 at Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley, running from 11am to 3pm.
Attendees will help design ‘DNA squares’ for the tapestry, expressing their identity, heritage, and postcode.
The finished artworks will go on display at a showcase event in December, forming part of an exhibition that will also feature personal objects, historical artefacts, and archive film footage selected by the young ambassadors.
The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, December 5 at Bradford Industrial Museum.
