A COMMUNITY orchard is bringing a taste of the harvest to the city centre.
Bowling Park Community Orchard will host a stall at Darley Street Market on Saturday, September 26, offering apples, apple juice, chutneys, jams and more, all grown and made nearby.
The event, organised by Bradford Apple Group and Bowling Park Community Orchard, will run from 10am to 5pm on the market’s Fresh Food floor.
Julia Pearson, from Bowling Park Community Orchard, said: "We are really pleased to return to Darley Street Market, having had a successful stall in February.
"This year’s harvest has already started, so we hope to have a really good selection of fresh apples."
Visitors can also get advice on growing fruit trees and bushes, as well as details about the orchard’s Apple Day event on Sunday, October 11.
Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, said: "We’re delighted to welcome Bowling Park Community Orchard back to Darley Street Market following its successful visit earlier this year.
"Pop-up stalls like this add even more variety to the fantastic fresh produce available at the market, while giving local community groups an opportunity to showcase what they do."
