A County Durham swimming pool has been forced to close for the weekend after a 'faecal incident.
Spennymoor Leisure Centre, on the High Street, apologised to customers for "any inconvenience" after it had to close the pool.
The pool is expected to reopen on Monday (September 28) and will remain closed throughout the weekend to be thoroughly cleaned.
In a statement online, the leisure centre said: "Spennymoor leisure pool has been closed today (Saturday, September 26) due to a faecal incident in the pool.
"The pool will re-open Monday, September 28 at 7am after the necessary processes have been carried out.
"We apologise for any inconvenience."
The pool also closed for the same reason in May and August this year.
