A Durham restaurant said 'rising energy bills' and ingredient costs meant it would be closing its doors for good.
Notch Americano said it will serve its last customers on Sunday, November 1.
In a message to customers, the restaurant said rising costs had made it increasingly challenging to continue operating.
The statement said: "This isn't a decision we've taken lightly.
"With the continued pressures facing our restaurant and hospitality industry from the cost of living to rising energy bills and the increasing cost of ingredients at Notch, we've made the difficult decision that it's time to close this chapter."
Owners thanked customers for their support over the years and reflected on the role they had played in the restaurant's success.
They said: "We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who's visited us, supported us and made Notch what it is.
"We've made some incredible memories here and we're genuinely grateful to every one of you."
Despite the closure announcement, the business hinted that a new venture could be on the horizon.
The statement added: "As one door closes, another one opens, so stay tuned.
We're really hoping to have some good news to share with you very soon."
Further details about those plans have not yet been revealed, but the video shared on Facebook said the owners had agreed to bring back a well-known brand to the city.
Customers reacted with sadness to the news following the annoucement.
Joe Wild said: "Absolutely gutted for you all. Delicious the couple of times I’ve been down.
