A serving Durham officer has been charged with two counts of sexual communication with a child.
The 31-year-old police constable has been remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday, September 26).
He has been suspended from duty while a criminal investigation is carried out.
The Northern Echo understands that he was arrested while off duty and taken into police custody in a different force area.
