A Darlington singer-songwriter has reached a national TV audience after her song featured in Channel 4's long-running drama Hollyoaks.
Phoebe Emmerson's track You & Me appeared on the soundtrack of Wednesday's episode (September 23) of the multi award-winning soap, marking another milestone for the rising local artist.
The TV appearance comes as Phoebe prepares to release her latest single, Friday Night Dancing, next month.
The new track follows the success of You & Me, which received a glowing five-star review from NE Volume Magazine, describing it as "sun soaked escapism" that was "tailor made for long, hazy summer nights".
Friday Night Dancing is a dance-inspired track celebrating the role music can play in bringing people together.
Phoebe said: "The songs we love and share with someone else provide a strong emotional tie.
"'Friday Night Dancing' is about two people with the same soundtrack and one which has built up, song by song, over the course of their relationship.
"The music, the lyrics, the dancing, it's like a unique language that only two people can share."
Phoebe said hearing her music would feature in Hollyoaks was "amazing".
The exposure has already helped introduce her music to listeners around the world, with followers and fans discovering her work from countries including Japan, Australia, Italy and South Africa.
