Hospice workers have run more than 100 miles across Yorkshire to raise vital funds for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
The Martin House Children’s Hospice care team ran from Saltburn on the Yorkshire coast to Martin House in Boston Spa in an overnight relay for its “Running Costs” fundraiser.
Hollie Siu, a care team nurse at Martin House, said: "We wanted to take on a challenge together because we see every day just how important the care Martin House provides is to children and families.

"Running more than 100 miles through the day and night was a huge challenge, but knowing we were raising money to help keep that care going gave us plenty of motivation."
The route took the team through Staithes, Whitby, Glaisdale, Rosedale, Helmsley, Crayke, York, Copmanthorpe and Tadcaster before they finished together at Martin House.
Each runner completed a section of the relay, with some covering half-marathon and marathon distances.

The fundraiser has raised more than £2,000 so far to help cover the hospice’s daily specialist-care costs.
It reflects a wider shift in Martin House fundraising, from THE BUILD — the hospice’s £21.9 million transformation — to the ongoing cost of care and services.

Ms Siu said: "The support we had along the route and when we arrived back at Martin House was brilliant, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated."
Martin House cares for more than 550 children and young people each year across West, North and East Yorkshire.
The hospice’s annual running costs are around £13 million, with most funded by donations and fundraising.
