Leeds contestant leaves ITV The Chase saying same thing minutes into show

Bradley Walsh left one contestant baffled during the cash-builder round of ITV's gameshow, The Chase

The Chase may not be a comedy show but fans were certainly left amused within minutes of the latest instalment of the ITV gameshow.

During Friday's (September 25) episode, host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players, Dharm, Mark, Gwen, and Cami, who were eager to test their general knowledge skills against one of the world's best quizzers.

First up to face Brad in the cash-builder round was Dharm, a Civil Service accounts manager originally from Bolton but now living in Leeds, who was hoping to win a cash prize to fund a hair transplant.

When Brad asked what he would spend any prize money one, the 40-year-old confessed: "Well, I'll get a new head of hair, right?" as Brad quired: "What's the matter with the one you got?"

Dharm replied, "It's running a bit thin," before confirming hopes of winning between £2k and £3k.

As the one-minute timer started in teh cash builder round, Brad asked Dharm his first question: "Complete the saying: You should never look a gift horse in the what?". "Eye," Dharm stated, as Bradley confirmed the correct answer was "Mouth."

Viewers watching The Chase at home were instantly left amused by Dharm's answer to the question. Taking to X, one person wrote: "TBF I've never looked a gift horse in the eye - good advice…#TheChase."

A second added: "#Thechase don't look in its mouth, they bite (laughing face emojis)", as a third confirmed: "#thechase Eye, blimey (eye roll emoji)."

"#TheChase eye???? (horse emoji)", added one viewer as another joked: "Eye (laughing faces) Fantastic start #thechase."

Despite Dharm's initial blunder, he managed to bag £4k in the cash builder round before taking on Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace in the tricky head-to-head round. But he succeeded in winning a place in the final.

Second player Cami returned to her teammates with £6000, increasing the shared prize pot to £10,000. Next up was Gwen, who secured a place in the final chase with another £3,000 added to the prize pot.

Mark also returned home to his three team-mates with £4,000, bringing the prize pot to a whopping £17,000.

In the final, the four quizzers went up against The Dark Destroyer one last time. Their score of 20 proved to be strong enough to beat The Chaser, and they took home their share of the prize pot.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
