An evening combining music and history will take place at Halifax Minster.
The event, running from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on October 3, will celebrate the launch of Professor David Baker’s latest book on Victorian composer John Varley Roberts.
Prof Baker said: "I hope the book and its launch will appeal to a variety of people and I am looking forward to welcoming those who helped me with my research, as well as musicians, antiquarians, organists and many others, who like me, share a passion for church music of this era."
A conversation between Prof Baker and international recitalist David Pipe will explore Roberts’ legacy and the inspiration behind the biography.
Mr Pipe will also perform a recital on the historic Halifax Minster organ, with music from the Victorian church tradition.
